Saydrop turns what you say into reminders and journal entries. This page explains exactly what happens to that data. It is short because the app collects very little.
Your reminders and journal entries are stored in the app’s own storage on your device. They are not uploaded to us, not synced to a server, and not backed up anywhere we can read. Deleting the app deletes them.
We do not have accounts. There is nothing to sign in to, so we never hold your name, email address or phone number.
When you record a note, Apple’s speech recognition converts your voice to text. Saydrop asks for on-device recognition wherever your language and iPhone support it, so the audio does not leave the device. If on-device recognition is unavailable for your language, iOS may process the audio on Apple’s servers under Apple’s privacy policy. Saydrop never stores or transmits the audio itself.
To decide whether a note is a reminder or a journal entry, and to give it a short title, the text of that single note is sent to our server on Cloudflare, which passes it to OpenAI’s API for processing.
If the server is unreachable, Saydrop falls back to sorting the note entirely on your device, and nothing is sent at all.
Reminders are scheduled as local notifications by iOS on your iPhone. They are not pushed from a server, so their contents never leave the device.
Saydrop Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple handles the payment and tells the app only whether an active subscription exists. We never see your payment details, and we do not receive a list of who subscribed.
So we know how many people use Saydrop and how many subscribe, the app sends one small ping when it starts:
That is the entire ping. Your notes, their titles, times and moods are never part of it. Deleting the app deletes the identifier; reinstalling makes a new one, so we cannot recognise a returning person.
Saydrop contains no analytics SDK, no advertising, and no tracking across apps or websites. We do not build a profile of you and we do not share anything with third parties for advertising.
Saydrop is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Because your notes live on your device, you are in control of them: delete a single note by holding it and choosing Delete, or erase everything in Settings → Erase all notes. As we hold no personal data on our servers, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request — but you can always write to us with a question.
